the reason i did not update my blog

1. lazy (no point denying)

2. CHINESE NEW YEAR! goshh this is the most hectic cny i've ever had. usually i'll be bored to death during 3rd or 4th day of cny. but this year is different!! plans were made and off i go to pai ni or meet up with friends.

i guess it's because all of us grew up. friends... relatives... cousins... we are now in different parts of the world. and cny is one of the reasons to be home, to keep in touch and to meet each other.

Part 5: South Africa - Hout Bay & Duiker Seal Island & Chapman's Peak

30th december 2008
after the trip to the Castle of Good Hope, we drove our way to Hout Bay.

look at the colour of the sky.. really like those in the painting.. blue in colour, not even a spot of cloud.... and the water is so clean and clear despite there's so many people at the beach.

look at the water. TURQUOISE in colour

some people just sun tan next to their car

we then asked around where should we go to see the seals. they told us we came to the wrong place. we have to go to the other end of Hout Bay to see the seals. =.='' so we drove another 15 minutes to the other end of Hout Bay.

once we reach there, we were hungry so we decided to eat the famous fish & chips in Mariner's Wharf.

and guess what! there were so many people queuing for the fish & chips too.. we actually queued for more than 1 hour just to get our fish & chips! =.='' but it was really worth it as it was really delicious! *licking fingers*

then we walk around, while looking for the boat ride to Duiker Seal Island.

reminds me of the movie NEMO somehow lol

our boat

at first all of us were like so excited. choosing the best seat that faces outside to have a better view of the seals.

on board

but once the boat starts to move, everyone started going towards the middle. to stay hidden from the wind! jackets doesnt help to make us feel warm.

see how cold my parents are! i love this photo. loving huh? ;)

then someone shouted, "LOOOK!"

everyone goes "wowwwwww seals!"

then suddenly the boat turns, and this is what we saw.

thousands of seals

so MANY seals! no wonder it's called Duiker Seal ISLAND. not beach, ISLAND! i have never seen so many seals in my whole life before. it makes me feel like i'm in the National Geography channel. haha

all the black black dots on the rocks are seals

after the boat ride, we decided to go to Chapman's Peak Drive to see the Twelve Apostles. but it was closed! we were too late. So we just took photos and enjoy the breeze at the carpark area.

the view of the beach frontier we went earlier

behind this mountain is the place where we went for the seal boat ride

Part 4: South Africa - Castle of Good Hope

30th december 2008
our first stop for the day is the Castle of Good Hope. It is situated in cape town.

**The Castle of Good Hope is the oldest surviving building in South Africa. Built between 1666 and 1679, this pentagonal fortification replaced a small clay and timber fort built by Commander Jan van Riebeeck in 1652 upon establishing a maritime replanishment station art the Cape of Good Hope for the Dutch East India Company, better known as the VOC (Verenigde Oos-Indische Compagnie).**

they have a pond.. and there are real ducks enjoying there with their babies!

oh, the above picture is actually a clock that they use to tell the time during the ancient times. the use the shadow as a guide. for example, the shadow is in between 9 and 10. therefore, it says that it is a little pass 9.30 in the above picture!
