2010 mid autumn celebration

22 September 2010.

The lanterns.

The food.

The people.

Too bad our plan to celebrate on the beach failed as it was drizzling.
Next year, maybe? ;)

half day tour to jerejak island

On 18 September 2010, I've decided to tag along PeiShing's trip to Jerejak Island. The plan was to meet at 9am at the Jerejak Jetty to take a ferry ride to the Jerejak Island.

I tagged along ChekHwa's car and we fetched LipHoo on the way. We even made a u-turn back to ChekHwa's house to take his sport shoe because he didnt know that we would be having activities there. He thought we are going there for sight seeing! LOL.. After the de-tour, we still reached the Jerejak Jetty at 9am as scheduled.

But turned out, only 7 people are punctual. The other 6 embrace the TRUE MALAYSIAN TIMING!

We sat down and waited.... chatted, played games in our handphones, took some photo, read newspaper... in between, complaining how late the rest were. LOL!

After 35 minutes, the late comers turned up... we then went to the counter and booked the half day package which costs RM60/person, consisting 6 activities + lunch + roundtrip ferry ride.

Before starting our day, a group photo first!

13 of us

Then we headed off for our ferry ride.

group picture (excluding CS as he is the photographer) and one stranger. picture spoiler!

There werent many visitors to Jerejak Island as you can see. There were only 13 of us plus another stranger that filled the 9.45am boat.

We were quite lucky as the weather was also nice. A little too sunny.. but better than rain!

off we go

future accountants

The ferry took bout 10-15 minutes to reach Jerejak Island. Upon reaching, we were lost! Haha we have no idea where to go. Thankfully there's a lady who was kind enough to lead us to the lobby of the resort where we are supposed to meet our "tour guide". We sat at the lobby eating CS's chocolate cake and some went to the washroom.

Then we headed off to our first activity. Archery.

100% concentration

Most of us were looking forward for this activity. It's our first activity and it's supposed to kick-start our day right? So terrible of them that they only give 3 arrows per person. Really potong stim nya. 3 arrows is not even enough for us to LEARN how to aim and shoot right?

But luckily I played once (with unlimited arrow) during my trip in Damai Laut 2 years ago. I missed the first arrow against the target board, but managed to hit the target with the 2 arrows. But not bull's eye la...

After each of us had a turn in archery, we headed off to the second activity, Wall Climbing.

I've tried wall climbing once during a school camp in Form 1, and I suck in it. LOL I cant climb! I barely lifted myself from the ground. LOL

All the guys had their turn first before we girls tried.

I had difficulties starting out. I couldnt get a firm grip to support myself. But thanks to the other 12 companions who gives instructions on which stone I should step on and which stone I should grip with my hands helped me.

up up away~~

I did not reach the very top of the 8meters track, but I am still satisfied with what I've achieved this time. Thank you everyone for your help! :D

13 spidermen and women with the RM800 "underwear"

After wall climbing, the "tour guide" lead us to our next activity. We started climbing up and up and up a hill....until we reached the next activity, Suspension Bridge.

We were told that not more than 5 people should be crossing the bridge at the same time. I wasnt afraid of heights so this activity wasnt really my concern... or at least I thought so.

beginning of the suspension bridge

When I was in the middle of the bridge, it was quite creepy as when I really put all my weight to one side, the bridge would actually turn and causes me to be unstable! So, never look down on this bridge!

At the other end of the bridge, another activity is waiting for us. Flying Fox!

Although this is going to be my 3rd experience in flying fox, it still gives me chills that I'll be FLYING ACROSS A LAKE (or is it a mini dam?) HANGING BY A ROPE!

After wearing the "underwear" aka harness and a cap that makes us looks like construction workers, off we go one by one sliding through the rope screaming or whooping with excitement!

only picture of me during flying fox and it's blur :(

I screamed at the beginning but nevertheless I enjoyed the ride! :D

After the first four activities, we were given a rest before lunch begin! On our way downhill, we saw the Obstacles Circuit. The guys started to dare among themselves to do the Tarzan Swing. Edwin was so unfortunate to fall into the pool full of mosquitoes!

THE swing

After that, we hanged out by the poolside while waiting for those who need to use the washroom. In the meantime the guys had a "stripping and throwing" party. Ryan and Ah Pek was the victim. The rest roared with laughter while snapping pictures of the stripping and throwing. LOL

splash!

After the wet ones changed to dry clothes and stopped LipHoo and ChekHwa from playing Ping Pong, we headed off for lunch at 12.30pm!

everyone except for CS the photographer

It was a buffet lunch. Not much choices of food for a buffet. White rice, curry chicken, mutton, beed, squid, vege, tomato soup, a small section of salad bar and dessert. Wasnt grand but at least the food was oo bi (with taste).

Our next activity will only start at 2.30pm. So after lunch we just sat there and enjoy the aircond+fan. Some of us even start feeling sleepy after so many activities and lunch!

At 2.30pm, we headed back to the lobby to look for our "tour guide". He told us that remaining two activities are Jungle Trekking and Cycing. We dont really fancy Jungle Trekking as there's nothing much to see. So we opted to rent balls and play some games at the beach.

We rented two balls - football ball and a volleyball ball for a deposit of RM50 each which are refundable when we return them. We then play modified Netball and Football game by the beach. It was fun especially each time when our ball bounced towards the sea, you can see Ah Pek zoom-ed flying at 200km/hour catching the ball. (He paid for the deposits) LOL~

Forgot to take pictures.

Then we headed back to our last activity, cycling!

ladies ready to cycle

Most of them were pro cyclers already. While the rest went cycling at the jungle trekking route, me and some of the non-pro cyclers stayed behind and cycle around the area. We were only supposed to cycle for half an hour but in the end we cycled for around 1 hour!

After we returned the bicycles, we headed towards the beach for a a group picture before we leave Jerejak Island.

jerejak survivors

Took the 6pm ferry boat ride back to Penang. Overall, it was a fun outdoor day for me. Hope it was for the rest too!

And I definitely exercised and sweated a lot. Felt like a dead corpse the next day... and suffered whole body ache for the next 3 days!

ps: pictures from CS, PS and me....

gossip girl

Completed 3 seasons of Gossip Girl in two weeks. WOW! Even I'm impressed with myself. lol

I dont really like this series at first, since the whole story pretty much about A who sleeps with B who is in a relationship with C who likes A but is with D.. while trying to de-throne the Queen to be the Queen of society...you get the idea!

But the more I watched, the more addicted I am. Now, I cant wait for new episode of Season 4 each week!

x.o.x.o. Gossip Girl! ;)

these shoes are made for walking

Yes, I've been missing. My life's a routine (of nothing), which explains the silence. Sorry!
But today, I just had an urge to blog so badly so I tried to think of a topic for the whole day... and TADA~!~! I'm going to introduce all my shoes!!

Everyday Wear

You can see me wearing this pair of heels most of the time. It's because this pair of heels is so comfortable that I can keep up with my Mum's 10-hours-shopping mode! Plus, the jeans material makes it suitable for any type of casual outing with any type of clothing (pants, skirt, dress).

Simple Pink

Don't be deceived by it's simple design. The main reason I bought this was because it is also very comfortable to wear. Just like the above heels. But the colour makes it difficult to suit with clothes.

Purple Ribbon

This is the first heels I ever bought for myself using my own money!
Previously, I own a pair of heels that looks very much alike, but it was worn out. I love that pair of heels so much that when I found this pair of heels, I know it is a must have for a replacement!

Polka-dots

I actually forgotten that I have this pair of heels. I own this pair of heels for 4 years already! WOW!!

Jeans Ballet Flats

I saw some of my collegemates wore ballet flats and I bought this. Jeans material again so that I can suit with most of my clothes. It was okay when I tried it at the mall, but it betrayed me! This pair of flats makes my feet painful if I wear it too long.

White Ballet Flats

I love white! But again, when I tried it in the mall, it was comfortable. Besides it's not as "tough" as the Jeans Ballet Flats. The material is soft and I thought my leg would not be painful. But yeah... it makes my feet painful. Maybe I don't suit to wear ballet flats. Sigh... I'm still going to wear them though for outings that requires less walking.

Crocs Patra

I used to hate Crocs. They look so gong-tai-tai and they are way too overpriced! But that was before I experienced them. I wore my my sister, Shu-Yin's Crocs Cleo during my trip to South Africa in 2008-09 and I feel in love with them. The slipper is so comfortable and light! I managed to get a great bargain for this pair of Crocs Patra during the factory sale with the help of my relative who lives in Singapore.

White sandals

I've always wanted a "looks like being trapped in a chain" sandals/heels. Saw this pair of sandals on sale and I need sandals. Plus it's white! :)

White Dinner Heels

This pair of heels makes my feet looks very ladylike. I usually wear them when I wanna look feminine. LOL

Black Formal Heels

Black and formal....with fake crystals. LOL

Ladybug

Bought this pair of slipper for my Langkawi trip last August because I was worried I might lost my Crocs Patra when I leave it at the beach. The designs had faded and the ankle part has even sunk a little. What to do! Only RM7 from the market! No complains.

Sport Shoe

My first pair of sport shoe that I bought with my own money! With my favourite colour, RED!

Peach Sandals

This is the newest. Just bought them last weekend during Vincci's 50% sale. Haven't had a go with it yet.

So, these are all the shoes that I own. I never realised I have so many pairs until today. I always felt that I have only 5 pairs. Hahaha... Girls being girls!

So how many pairs do you own?
Start counting and you'll be surprised!

And I think Mum would say "No more buying shoes!" after reading this post. Sigh.. :(
