nasi kandar beratur

Lean, PeiShing and me joined the Nasi Kandar Beratur craze. Actually we just wanted to give it a try since it is quite famous for the queue.

We had our chance today. After P3 class which ended at 9.30pm, we headed down to Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling. We were slightly early, so we saw the other nasi kandar story clearing up, and the famous nasi kandar stall opening up the tables and arranged the chairs.

We managed to get a seat after waiting for awhile. Then we had our order. All this was before 10pm.

They are punctual I tell you. The shop officially served at 10pm. So we waited... and waited...

and waited... and waited... and waited..........

till 10.45pm before our order was served!! OMG!! We were like hungry ghosts by that time!

And by that time, the queue was really long! Something like this....

Pity those that queued because they served those that ordered first. So they were queuing for 1 hour before they serve them. :S

Taste wise, to me all nasi kandar tastes the same! HAHAHAHA but I find it not spicy enough. And PeiShing says it's a little more salty. But overall, I still think it tastes good! Love the kambing meat :D

This Nasi Kandar is really tasty. Unfortunately, I stumbled onto their very unethical practice. I was in line waiting for 45 minutes and along with me in the line were old folks and young children. We were all patiently waiting in line until we noticed that it was all a scam to make motorist think that their is a long line. For 45 minutes they continued to serve all those that were seated to dine-in. He did not even serve the first person in the line who was waiting patiently. They deliberately ‘create’ a line by completely ignoring the ever-increasing line. One individual in the line yelled at them when he too realised that they were making old folks and young children line-up UNNECESSARILY!! The business ethics is very questionable. A real pity as the food is actually very commendable but sad that this is the way they treat their customers.

hmmm is it true?
from my experience, those who were seated to dine-in was here even earlier and has already 'booked/ordered' their dishes. That's the reason they were being served first.

It is a total scam. I don't know why they are still so many supporters out there waiting in line. To me there is a lot more options in Penang Island. The taste is just so-so. Totally overrated.
