sunday morning

Once in a while, Shern would come in my room when I am still in dreamland and wake me up. Today is one of those days.

He came in with his favourites... CARS!

These cars were actually mine many many years ago!

After awhile, he got bored playing on the bed and decided to play in his favourite style, LAZY STYLE!

Lying on the floor while pushing his cars, looking at the wheels.

GOOD MORNING!

where do i see myself 5 years from now?

SHIT! I dont even see myself 1 year from now...

I can only see myself erm... furthers is 3 months from now.

I know at that time, I'll be breathing the air of freedom while enjoying my long-awaited holidays after my stressful exams.

But the REAL future?
What will I be doing?
Where am I gonna be?

Perhaps I'll be chasing after my dreams...but "WHAT IS MY DREAM?"

what an experience

Today, after McD lunch in Gurney Plaza, i drove down the winding down from 6th floor carpark. Exactly when I reached the ground floor, my engine died. Yes, DIED!!

How could this happen?

The fuel arrow was already pointing at E when I drove the car to college this morning. I was thinking to driving the car back home after college and let my dad to refuel the petrol as usual. Since the fuel signal is not blinking yet, it should be enough for me to travel for quite a distance still.

Later only I found out that.........

KENARI DOES NOT HAVE SIGNAL THAT BLINKS TELLING YOU THE CAR IS ABOUT TO BE DEHYDRATED FROM FUEL!

one word, SIGH!

Thankfully I called my dad who came into rescue! Thanks Daddy! :)

And thanks PeiShing for accompanying me! Happy Birthday again~ :)

PeiShing and Daddy refueling the car

And luckily the fuel was used up on the way down the winding road and not the other way round! If not, mou ngan thai...

kuala gula

Is this place located in Malaysia?
Yes. In Perak.
What do you do there?
*google search engine*
Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary.

I'm not such a bird lover but I decided to joined my mum's trip to Kuala Gula as I had nothing planned for the weekend.

It took about an hour drive from Penang Island.

Our destination.

The basic kitchen.

Poop here and it goes directly to the sea.

The back of the house.

They are not stones. They are cockle shells!

We sat on the boat for bird watching.

The fishing village view from the boat.

Straight ahead, Malacca Straits!

This is how the divide their territory.

Scenery

Scenery

Bird watching using binoculars.

Collecting cockles easily.

Scenery

Collared Kingfisher bird if I'm not wrong.

Collared Kingfisher looks like this when I see using the binoculars.

Spot the bird. Forgot what species already. hehe

We saw a few more different birds.
Some birds are elegantly covered with white feathers while some have bright colourful feathers.
But they were quite a distance from our boat.
I couldnt capture them on cameras.
Only saw them through the binoculars.
And I cant google for pics either as I've forgotten what are the birds called. *blush*

Scenery

Bait for shrimps. Leave it there and collect it 1 hour later.

The guy who took us around told us that the fishermen only work 4 hours a day.
And included in the 4 hours, they can sleep for 2 hours while waiting waiting for the nets the be filled with seafood.
And they can earn easily rm1k - 4k each time they go out to the sea.
Sometimes 1 boat goes out for catch, and they need 3 boats to come back!

The boat ride took about 1.5 hours.

Drying the net

Then we headed off to the mangroves.

Mangrove Trees

I learned a lot about the importance of mangrove to the underwater ecosystem.

Then we get to go to the place where they sell SUPER BIG mantis shrimp!
About 4 of these already weigh 1kg!

Mum doesnt dare to put her hand too near the mantis shrimp.

Next, we headed to the Charcoal Factory.

Charcoal factory.
The inside of atap actually turned into charcoal due to the heat from burning the trunks into charcoal.

The "dome" that burns the trunks into charcoals.
Each "dome" can generate about RM 12-16k of charcoal per month! o.O
And the factory that I went has 4 "domes".

After all the trip, we headed off for dinner.

Ai Tee Seafood Restaurant

Kopi Peng & Nes Peng

They serve the BEST Kopi Peng and Nes Peng in Malaysia!
Super yummy that one glass will never be enough!
The Teh Peng was also yummy.
6 of us took 12 glases of drinks!

Our dinner.
Mihun with crab. Vege. Mantis shrimp.
Fried Sotong. Cockles. Shrimp.
Steamed egg with shrimp. Soft-shell crab. Curry fish.

I'm not a seafood person, but the seafood was really yummy.
I like the shrimp the most. They are so fresh!
Finger linkin' good~

Our whole dinner including drinks only costs rm120.50.
Really really extremely cheap.

After dinner, we headed back to Penang.

Overall, the trip was a little more fun than expected.
Although I wasnt a bird lover, but it was quite fun spotting rare colourful birds.
But I dont think I can take it up as my new interest.
A few hours of bird watching is enough for me.
I definitely enjoyed the dinner! Hehe

Finally received the results for my thesis.

A little disappointed as I only managed to get Lower Second Class Honours based on my thesis (grade B) and ACCA Fundamental Papers' results.

But nonetheless,

I am a proud Degree holder
