Hello! I'm back from a week-long trip to Hong Kong with my big sis, Yin and bro-in-law, Peter.
So now it's time to blog! :)
30 October 2010
Reached the airport at about 4.30am. We only had 3 hours of sleep that night but at the same time, we are excited for HK!

We reached Hong Kong International Airport at around 9.30am. After retrieving our checked-in luggage and passing through the immigrations, we went to buy Airport Express to Kowloon and also bought Octopus Card for usage of MTR.
Then off we go to Kowloon using the Airport Express and then the free shuttle bus to Park Hotel. Then we walked about 50 metres from Park Hotel to our place of accomodation, Lee Garden Guest House.
Experienced the smallest lift for human I've ever seen.
lift door looking just like those in tvb movies
the size of the lift, super small!

HK really have to pay for space. Guess it explains such a small room is worth HK$550 per night! Overall, the guest house was clean and new. Doesnt give an eerie feeling. The hosts were friendly and helpful. There's housekeeping every day and they even changed the towel every day!
After changing and bathing, we took the MTR to Prince Edward Station. Went to the famous streets of HK such as Temple Street, Ladies Market, Goldfish Market, Flower Market etc...
ladies market. it reminds me of KL's Chee Cheong Kai

As our room was still not ready, we left our luggage there and went to walk around the neighbourhood. After a while, we were hungry and we went hunting for food in a The One mall.
We wanted something HongKong style since it will be our first meal in HongKong. We rejected western and japanese and some fine dining restaurants and finally decided in this restaurant.
dont know what izzit called. No English name =.=''

We were seated and looked at the menu, only to realised that it is a Taiwanese Restaurant! Not Hongkie... HAHAHA that's the problem of not being able to read chinese. LOL We continued eating there anyway.
Milk tea with pearl sago
fried spring rolls
Pork rice with citrus wafu sauce
Minced pork rice

Super duper love their milk tea! The pork rice with citrus wafu sauce is quite special. The pork is actually really thin sliced 'bak eu'.. Super fattening but yummy!! Worth the extra fats. Minced pork rice was good too! Spring rolls was normal.
After lunch we headed back to Lee Garden to prepare for the long day.

About tea time, we went hunting for Yuen Kee Dessert located in Temple Street for a taste of their famous desserts.
Yuen Kee
soy bean pudding (YUMMY)
fresh mango pudding (YUMMY)
We ordered these two cold desserts and when we looked around the shop, everyone seems to be eating some hot desserts. We told the waiter we wanted that too. And when the dessert turned up, it was Cha Cha (Malaysian)! HAHA
Cha Cha
The Cha Cha is a mixture of Malaysia's bubur chacha + lek tau + bee ko moay + ang tau + etc... Tastes quite nice too actually. LOL
After some desserts, we continued walking around those streets for a while before taking the MTR back to Tsim Sha Tsui. Then we walked our way to Arena of Stars.
action!
film rolling....
I really love the night view of HK!
egg rolls
Then we spotted a stall selling Curry Fish Balls, so we bought a them. Their fishballs are not as springy as those in Malaysia.
Mango Milk Tea (YUCK! tastes weird)
Fried Siu Mai

Of course we took pictures of the celebrities' handprints.
Arena of Stars actually located at the shore, overlooking the skyscrapers in HongKong Island.

One thing bad about Arena of Stars is there's no one selling REAL food there! We were super hungry at that time, but we tied our stomach and waited for the Symphony of Lights which starts at 8pm.
After the Symphony of Lights, we walked our way back to Tsim Sha Tsui town area and went food hunting. First food we found was Egg Rolls. Lots of people were queuing up to buy so we joined the crowd.
egg rolls
It tastes quite normal and we were slightly disappointed. We should've chose Chocolate or Peanut Butter flavour instead of original.
Then we spotted a stall selling Curry Fish Balls, so we bought a them. Their fishballs are not as springy as those in Malaysia.
Random walking and spotted a shop selling this. I thought they are 'bak chang'...
...and only realised that they are CRABS, all tied-up into squares! And my sis says they are still alive! :(
Then we spotted a shop called hot.com where everything is HK$10. There's quite a number of people queuing up so again, we joined the crowd.

After hot.com, we were all extremely tired and our legs are superly painful after the whole day of walking. In fact, we cant quite feel our leg anymore. It walks automatically on its own. So we decided to call it a day and headed back to Lee Garden.
