slumdog millionaire

since Slumdog Millionaire won 8 Oscar Awards, it's a must watch show isnt it? lol went to watch it with YiTing and Connie in gurney today.

**Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from slums of Mumbai, is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" Arrested on suspicion of cheating, he tells the police the incredible story of his life on streets, and of the girl he loved and lost. But what is a kid with no interest in money doing on the show? And how is it he knows all the answers? -gsc.com.my**

normally all those movies that won many many awards are very DEEP and need alot of understanding to watch (in another words, boring sleepy movies hahaha). but i think Slumdog Millionaire is one of those award winning movies that is actually nice! This movie is uniquely interesting, capturing the life of a person in India. It's a great movie! rating of 4.5/5.0 from me!

**Jai Ho song playing**
lol

ps: HAHAHAHA to the toilet scene. lol
pss: HAPPY BIRTHDAY NUFFNANG! =D

Part 9: South Africa - Neethlingshof Wineyard, Mooiberge Winery And Distillery, Gordon's Bay

5th january 2009
today we decided to do something that everyone stays in Stellenbosch must do - wine tasting. we choose one of the wineyard that has free entrance fee and not too commercialized. wen decided for us to go to Neethlingshof Wineyard.

one of the restaurant inside

once we reach there, we go straight to the wine tasting centre.

@ wine tasting centre entrance

and began our wine tasting...

during wine tasting

we had Gewűrtztraminer, Chardonnay - Wooded, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Laurentius and Pinotage.

needless to say, every wine tastes bitter to me. lol

we then went to the wine shop.

wine is cheap in South Africa!

so we bought the maximum bottle that we can bring back malaysia, FOUR! kiasu malaysians ma hahahaha.. we then began to walk around.. and we spotted a few statues. maybe the wine got into us, because everyone began to play with the statue.

and there was a very beautiful garden inside Neethlingshof.

we left Neethlingshof Wineyard quite early, we thought of dropping by at Mooiberge Winery And Distillery, which is actually more known as Mooiberge Strawberry Farm!

there they have many cute cute colourful statues, scarecrows, strawberries.. etc.

it's a big big farm

mum found a BIG strawberry

and look at the number of scarecrows they have

me with one of the scarecrow on bicycle

too bad the weather was too hot that day. we couldnt stand being under the sun even for 5 minutes! apatah lagi, plucking strawberries =S though it's very tempting to pluck as it is really cheap and you can actually fill the container with as much BIG BIG JUICY STRAWBERRIES as you can.

plucked and wrapped strawberries for sale

we choose to buy them anyway. couldnt resist! at least we have some fresh strawberries back!

6th january 2009
according to shu-wen, they have a really big second hand bookstore in Gordon's Bay. and mum being a fan of books, we went over to Gordon's Bay.

@ the entrance of the second hand bookstore

of course inside, it's just books books and books! but you should be impressed how organised they arrange it!

books

inside the bookstore

one of the corridor

before we went in, we said to ourselves, NO BUYING OF BOOKS. books are heavy and waste our luggage space! but in the end, mum bought a few books too. temptation is high there =.=''

then we went over to have a look at the souvenir shops.

inside the souvenir shop

in this shop, most of the things are made of seashells!

my favourite

not many people came out for the beach today. as it was really cloudy. you know la, angmo loves the sun to suntan. unlike asians who prefer shades.

look at the sky. filled with clouds!

muffins

yesterday my sister forced me to help her to bake some muffins. she brought me shopping, and finally after about an hour of choosing-the-most-affordable-and-reasonable-yet-will-result-in-delicious-muffins ingredients, we head towards her home and two chefs started the job!

ingredients

my sister is the main chef. i'm just there to stir and measure the ingredients. i'm just the follower following the master's orders. lol

our chocolate flavoured muffins were yummy!

not too sweet. in fact you can taste the bitter side of the chocolate. which is the best! i like bittersweet chocolates =D

i start to enjoy the joy of baking! =D
