Part 7: South Africa - Walk Around The Place We Stay, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, Simon's Town

1st january 2009
that's the day we can officially tell everyone we went south africa for a year! =P
since we were busy traveling non stop since we arrived cape town, we decided to just walk around the town where we stayed.

white and red roses can be easily found in anyone's garden

just as we reached the town, we realized most of the town is closed. BECAUSE IT IS NEW YEAR! =.='' we still walked around anyway hehe

giraffes. some are even taller than me

2nd january 2009
the plan for the day; we'll go all the way to the very south.

along the way, as usual, we took many wonderful photos of the wonderful coast line.

@ one of the stop; Partridge Point

i know i've said this a dozen time, but look at the colour of the ocean

@ the next stop along the way

beautiful coast line

all the way down

a seat was built right next to the cliff to enjoy the view... and the WIND!

after about 2 hours drive (and stopping from time to time to snap pictures), finally we reached Cape Point.

bottom of cape point

we've decided to hike up instead of taking the cable car since it's not very high. and in that way, we can enjoy the scenery more.

along the way up

look at the background. there's two blue area~

it's really very very cold up there

somewhere near the peak
look at our hair... imagine the wind!

our destination; the peak of cape point, the lighthouse

the lighthouse

according to the sign, singapore is 9667km away. so malaysia should be around 9700km away?

look at the colour of the water

perfectly clean

cape point - where two oceans merge

how often can u go to a place where two oceans merge? i'm glad i did =)

after Cape Point, we drove our way to Cape of Good Hope.

along the way, we saw some beautiful rocks, and stopped to snap some photos again.

if u see this picture properly, look at the wave in between the rocks right behind me. it's high!

mummy and daddy. and yes we are going to hike up that!

hiking

as you can see in the picture, it was actually quite dangerous. it was really windy and you gotta really bend your body low while climbing up or you might just be imbalance and fall!

when my sis went a few months back, she couldnt even take any picture as it was too windy. she was busy grabbing every support she could!

at the midpoint

nothing much up there. just the view of the endless sea again. my kuma says she sees the sea view till she jelak d. lol but of course, i always enjoy the view =)

on the way back, we dropped by Simon's Town. it's supposed to be a cowboy-like town.

the famous dog statue that was build because he saved someone from some incident

i like the balcony fences

we did not stay there for long. we were kinda tired after all those hiking.

on the way back

random building on the way

oh i forgot to mention. every morning we would watch the weather forecast. if the sky is clear, it means it's cloudless. like most of the pictures above and previously posted.

if it's cloudy, it means this:

vineyard

yes. our normal clear in malaysia, is cloudy in South Africa. lol

some nice view on the way back home

then dinner. celebrated my belated birthday!

@ Simply Asia Restaurant

in my opinion, no matter where Asians go, they will miss asian food. i did ;)
